The “Epirus food” website was born from an aspiring development program initiated by the Region of Epirus.

It’s the result of a pioneering collaboration between experts from the fields of academic research and hospitality business to accelerate the advance of Epirotic tourism through the region’s rich, time-honored culinary culture.

Toward the program’s goals and objectives, the University of Ioannina joined forces with two major hospitality services providers, Grand Forest Metsovo and ANOSTRO, to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the age-old Epirotic dietary customs and practices. Based on their findings, they oversaw the design of a modern digital medium providing a memorable visitor experience, a tantalizing gastronomy-led journey across Epirus and its history.

On the “Epirus food” website, visitors are introduced to the secrets of the Epirotic culinary tradition through an invaluable collection of select recipes that have stood the test of time as they were passed down from generation to generation.
